Help would be nice
Getting accepted to college was the easy part but getting everything done and all your paperwork turned in before the deadline was the hard part. I had such a hard time getting all my papers filled out correctly before I was all set up to start. I didnt like how everything was online and noone was there to help show me what I did wrong. I almost couldnt start college in august because one of my papers I filled out I forgot to answer a simple question. It was almost impossible to see somebody at the school because I called my acedemic advisor multiple times and never got a call beck. I came to the school for help and it was a long wait and then when I did get to talk to somebody I was rushed out of there with none of my questions answered. I think that colleges should have a program that will go step by step with the people who want help with all the pre-college papers and financial aid papers. High schools should think about starting a program or a class for seniors and help them get everything done before they send them out of their school not knowing anything or what to do next.
I like your introduction :) I totally agree with you because I didn't know anything about financial aid and other things. I hate online homework too. The advantage for online homework is that you get to answer the questions until you get it right but the disadvantage is that you're not learning anything, you're just trying to get the question answered so you can get 100% on homework.
ReplyDeleteAngelica, like Angela, I totally agree with you...I was the first in my family to go to college and had no idea how to go about it, and my High School wasn't very good at explaining it. As a result, I started at a community college and transferred instead of going directly into a four-year school. What I find interesting is that PNC has a College Bound program that is supposed to help with this. maybe your research question should be about which Colleges have the best of these programs that help students get through the process, and what is it that they do?
